Barbara’s practice covers a broad range of local government work, employment and personal injury.

Barbara has extensive expertise in all areas relating to housing, particularly ASBOs, possession proceedings, disrepair, homelessness and allocations. She acts on behalf of Local Authorities, Social Registered Landlords and tenants in a variety of courts, including the Court of Appeal.  In addition, she is instructed in cases relating to environmental health, licensing matters and other regulatory offences.  She also practises in Landlord & Tenant law (both residential and commercial) and appears before the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal.

Barbara’s employment law practice is both advisory and advocacy based. She represents companies, individuals, charities and Local Authorities in a wide range of cases, including redundancy, unfair dismissal, restrictive covenants, claims under the Working Time Regulations, and all types of discrimination claims before the Employment Tribunal and the Employment Appeal Tribunals.

Barbara’s personal injury work encompasses cases on the multi track and fast track, acting for both Claimants and Defendants. She has wide ranging experience including employers' and occupiers' liability, local authority liability, and claims under the Highways Act.

She is a regular lecturer, a member of the Bar Pro Bono Unit and the Consultations Gratuites, an advice facility for the Francophone community of London. 

In 2003 Barbara was awarded a JP Warner Scholarship and spent three months at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg and in 2005 she spent a month at a Parisian law firm as part of the London-Paris Bar Exchange.

Barbara is Chair of Clarendon Chambers’ Public Law Group and Member of the Tenancy Committee.
