Dee has a civil based practice, focusing primarily on employment, personal injury, landlord and tenant, education and media law.
Employment
She has a particular interest in employment law with much of her practice dedicated to this field. She has worked with Salford TUC on a number of discrimination cases.
Dee successfully obtained compensation on behalf of four employees of a Manchester based company who had sacked them claiming “redundancy”, replacing all of them with workers from Eastern Europe. Substantial compensation paid for race discrimination.
In 2008 Dee was invited to present a workshop at a National Shop Stewards conference on Anti-Trade Union Laws. She has also written articles on employment law and legislation.
Personal Injury
Dee represents both claimants and defendants in personal injury cases including RTAs, accidents in the workplace and credit hire. She has considerable advisory and drafting experience as well as providing representation before the County Court.
Landlord and Tenant
She represents landlords and tenants in Possession Order hearings and has negotiated renewal of leases under The Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 Part II.
Education
Dee has advised in matters involving education law, particularly in relation to school closures and school re-organisation, including judicial review challenges to pre-closure consultations.
Media Law
She advises upon all aspects of music law, from trademarks and licensing agreements to contractual and copyright issues.
