Elizabeth Gooderham specialises in family and criminal law.

Elizabeth has established a busy family practice focusing primarily on public and private law Children Act work. Elizabeth undertook a period of secondment at Milton Keynes BC, in the child protection department which involved not only advocacy in the FPC and County Court but also assisting in legal planning meetings, reviews and conferences with social workers and other professionals, thereby adding a further dimension to her previous experience within this delicate and specialist area of practice. Whilst at MKBC Elizabeth also gained valuable experience and insight into adult community care and mental heaith work.

Elizabeth represents Local Authorities, Parents and Guardians at all stages of care proceedings from EPO’s to finding of fact and final hearings. She is experienced in cases of neglect, sexual and physical abuse and particularly in representing clients with mental health difficulties. 

In Criminal law Elizabeth prosecutes and defends all types of cases in the Crown Court although her practice is now predominantly criminal defence. Elizabeth is particularly instructed in cases of violence or of a sexual nature and those involving child witnesses.
