Sir Ivan Lawrence QC, as Member of Parliament for Burton for 23 years has frequently mediated in disputes between industry, businesses, trade unions and local and national government. He has also much experience in resolving conflicts between sections of the community and individuals with planning, construction and quasi-legal problems.

As an advocate, he has acted in many headline cases for over 40 years, including as Lead Counsel in a war crimes mass murder prosecution at the Hague and was a Recorder of the Crown Courts (part time Judge) for nineteen years. As an MP, he was also chairman of several high profile committees involving legal and international affairs, including the prestigious and influential Home Affairs Select Committee 1992 – 1997. He initiated the National Lottery with his private members' Bill in Parliament. 
Sir Ivan delivers master classes in the skills and techniques of advocacy and has provided training in human rights. He is a respected Master Bencher of The Inner Temple and visiting Professor of Law at the University of Buckingham.
