ADR - Alterative Dispute Resolution

In 2008, Clarendon Chambers took the strategic decision to include alternative dispute resolution in its portfolio of services to clients. Chambers'  invited Ben Beaumont, a senior figure in the world of international arbitration and mediation, to lead and to build the Team.  Ben has been actively recruiting senior practitioners; Geoffrey Hawker and Dr Michael Arnheim provide depth and strength to the expanding ADR Team. Clarendon Chambers is in active discussions with other senior international practitioners to join this specialist Team.

Ben is a fellow of the Royal institution of chartered surveyors and Geoffrey is a civil engineer. Both are Chartered Arbitrators.  Michael is a leading international academic, to which many books and articles attest. Michael is regularly briefed by lawyers based in the United States who depend on his skills to ensure success.  Ben and Geoffrey have both been appointed in many domestic and international arbitrations.  In 1998 Ben set up the Forum for international conciliation and arbitration.  That body now has observer status at the United Nations.  It’s representation now extends to four of the six working groups of UNCITRAL.  As litigation costs mount it is essential that parties consider the alternative use of dispute boards, adjudication, mediation, conciliation and arbitration.  Clarendon Chambers offers proven experts in all these fields.
