Employment

Our group of specialist employment practitioners provides advocacy, consultancy services and advice in all areas of employment law, including:

• wrongful and unfair dismissal
• sexual discrimination
• racial discrimination
• disability discrimination
• employee benefits
• redundancy
• stress claims
• bullying
• transfer of undertakings (TUPE)
• restrictive covenants
• contracts of employment
• whistle blowing
• UK and European legislation.

We are experienced in working on behalf of employers and employees. Much of our work is focused upon resolution of disputes through negotiation and mediation. Increasingly members are involved in projects on behalf of employers, working closely with HR Managers and recruitment specialists to review existing employment contracts, benefit packages and long term HR strategies. Members of the group regularly appear before Employment Tribunals and County Courts throughout England and Wales, and before the Employment Appeal Tribunal and High Court.

The Employment group provides CPD accredited seminars and lectures to solicitors and other professional clients, both at their offices and externally. Our seminars have included talks on workplace stress, human rights in employment, sex, race and disability discrimination and restrictive covenants.

Contact our Clerks to book Counsel and for any advice as to the most suitably experienced barrister for a particular case.
