Family Law

Members of the Family Team specialise in all aspects of family law and related matters, appearing in the family courts throughout England and Wales.

They provide expert knowledge of all aspects of ancillary relief which comprises a substantial amount of Chambers’ Family law practice. Members of the Team represent clients in high value, multi asset and international cases and advise on all aspects of recovery and preservation of assets and pension orders. Additionally, we advise and represent clients in respect of divorce, enforcement of orders, insolvency, inheritance, Married Woman’s Property Act and on applications under the Child Support Act 1996 and the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996.

The Family Team has particular expertise in proceedings under the Children Act both in public law and in private law and under the Human Rights Act 1998; acting for parents, guardians and local authorities and including cases involving serious allegations of sexual and physical abuse and mental health issues. Members of the Team also provide extensive experience in representing clients under the Family Law Acts of 1986 and 1996. Some members also have expertise in child abduction both in respect of Convention and non Convention countries.

Contact our Clerks to book Counsel and for any advice as to the most suitably experienced barrister for a particular case.
