The Midlands regional office was opened in December 1999 following the recruitment of a group of established Midland Circuit barristers and our current senior clerk from chambers in Northampton. Barristers who are based at the regional office live and practice in the Midlands. Our Midlands work includes a combination of family, criminal and civil work. There has been a substantial increase in civil instructions over the last couple of years, in particular personal injury, credit hire and property cases.
In June 2010 the Midlands team welcomed Nicola McIntosh, formerly a solicitor of 12 years standing with particular expertise in motor insurance fraud and personal injury, having practiced at a number of national law firms. Our regional civil practitioners advise and appear in a range of fast track and multi track cases as well as in small claims matters which are handled by junior practitioners.
The regional office is administered by Davina Bestwick and Sue Timmons, who together, provide an invaluable liaison service to local solicitor clients, lay clients and members of chambers. 5 St. Giles Terrace is a busy center for holding conferences whether for clients locally or for those clients based further away who perhaps have instructed our London based barristers and who find it more convenient to meet with their barrister in the provinces.
All diary bookings and enquiries as to barrister availability and fees negotiation are managed centrally by our experienced clerking team in London who are contactable on 020 7353 0003. Chambers uses the latest information technology and case management software. Instructions to Counsel can be received by email at either of our locations as well as by conventional methods.
The overall responsibility for clerking and administrative services at Clarendon Chambers, London and Northampton, lies with the Senior Clerk, Russell Burton. He is based in London and can be contacted on 020 7353 0003 during office hours and on 07971 285 796 at any other time.
