Area of Practice: Civil and Family

Hena has acted on behalf of claimants and defendants on numerous occasions in the County Court. Her civil practice encompasses experience in personal injury matters, both as an advocate and in an advisory capacity (including infant settlement cases), all types of road traffic claims, bankruptcy hearings, contractual disputes and mortgage repossession hearings.

Hena's Family practice encompasses applications for injunction relief, committal proceedings, contact and residence matters and public law Children Act proceedings.

Area of Practice: Crime

Prior to joining the Bar, Hena Choudary worked as a Caseworker and Designated Caseworker for Coventry CPS and Leicester CPS respectively, where she developed a desire to practice as a criminal advocate. Since being called to the Bar in 2002, Hena's practice has focused on criminal law and she has gained substantial experience in both defending and prosecuting. Whilst initially practising in the Magistrates and Youth Courts, Hena is now regularly instructed in the Crown Court.

* Downloading indecent images
* Indecent assault
* Possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply (and other drug offences)
* Cases involving child witnesses
* Burglary
* ABH (numerous cases)
* Threats to kill

* Benefit Fraud
* Dangerous driving and other driving offences
* Public Order offences
* Protection from harassment matters
* Cases under the Dangerous Dogs Act
* School non-attendance hearings
