Laura Prince undertakes a broad practice covering CIVIL LITIGATION Laura’s civil experience includes employment tribunal hearings (both applicant and respondent), personal injury, road traffic accidents, contractual disputes, infant settlement approval hearings, possession proceedings, winding up petitions, licensing applications and appeals. Laura has experience of advisory work on both liability and quantum at all stages of a claim. EMPLOYMENT Laura has appeared in employment tribunals for both applicant and respondent in cases involving unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, unlawful deduction from wages and disability, race and sex discrimination. Most recently Laura successfully represented the applicant in a two day sex discrimination claim. Laura is a contributor to the Clarendon Chambers Employment Review newsletter. FAMILY Laura has gained considerable experience in public law Children Act proceedings whilst on secondment at a Local Authority. She has also successfully acted for the respondent in a contested non-molestation application. CRIME Laura undertakes a broad range of criminal work, both defence and prosecution, in the magistrates court and crown court including: - Assault/ABH - Possession of offensive weapons - Public Order - Theft and other dishonesty (including fraud) - Robbery - Drugs - Road traffic (including dangerous driving) - Harassment - Criminal damage and arson Laura successfully defended a two day robbery trial in the youth court and an allegation of ABH on this basis of mistaken identity. She is currently instructed in a dangerous driving case at the Crown Court in which her client suffers from Automatism. Professional Memberships: South East Circuit Criminal Bar Association
