Areas of Practice Peter Collins has been at the Bar for over 10 years practising in the following areas: • Bankruptcy & Insolvency Law He accepts instructions to represent applicants and respondents in private law and public law family cases as well as ancillary relief/matrimonial law cases. In immigration cases he has represented the Home Secretary at hearings in front of Adjudicators and Immigration Judges. He has accepted instructions to represent appellants in a wide range of cases in front of Adjudicators and Immigration Judges, the High Court (including Judicial Review Proceedings) and proceedings in front of the Court of Appeal. He accepts instructions to represent landlords (including social landlords) and tenants in housing and landlord & tenant cases. He has been instructed on Land Law cases, Trust cases, TFLATA cases and claims made under the Inheritance (Provision For Family & Dependants) Act 1975. He accepts instructions to represent employers and employees in a wide range of employment law cases at employment tribunals. He accepts instructions (on a privately funded and on a conditional fee agreement basis) representing claimants and defendants in personal injury cases including infant settlement cases. Peter Collins is formerly the Assistant Editor of Medical Law Reports (1993), Banking Law Reports (1993) and Reinsurance Law Reports (1993). Also he is formerly Assistant Editor of Family Court Reporter (1994-1999). He is an Independent Member of Dartford Borough Council’s Standards Committee (2006 - ). Cases of Interest R v Mungroo [1998] BPIR 784 (CA (Crim D)) The conduct of a person of previous good character, who fraudulently disposed of property/concealed the disposal of money before a bankruptcy order was made, crossed the custody threshold.
