Practices exclusively in Criminal Law Specialist criminal advocate instructed exclusively by the defence. Practice includes serious acts of violence including murder and attempted murder, rape and other sexual offences involving adults and children, armed robbery, kidnap, firearms, arson with intent, drugs and other serious crime. Murder / Serious Violence • Led by Timothy Spencer QC in 3 week murder trial at Birmingham Crown. Extremely complex issues regarding cause of death, head injury and brain pathology. Huge media and public interest followed case as the deceased was the father of a sports celebrity. Instructed by cater Slater. • Instructed in attempted murder trial at Leicester Crown Court with a time estimate of 5 days. Instructed by Dodds & Partners. • Represented defendant charged with murder and rape. Issues included diminished responsibility and detailed pathologists reports. Prosecution represented by QC. Northampton Crown Court case. Instructed by Cater Slater. Sexual Crime • Led by Howard Morrison QC in serious sexual abuse case in which the defendant faced 18 counts of indecent assault, rape and buggery on his four children and other young girl. Trial lasted 7 days at Aylesbury Crown Court. Instructed by Carter Slater. • Instructed in rape of charity worker. Case involved detailed analysis of DNA and forensic material. Listed at Leicester Crown Court. Instructed by Dodds & Partners. • Represented client charged with multiple rape. Issues of consent. Trial heard at Northampton Crown Court lasting 5 days. Instructed by Carter Slater. Other Experience • Instructed as single junior counsel on behalf of the 3rd defendant in substantial conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs involving 15 defendants. Issues involve cross border police operations including covert surveillance and sophisticated hydroponics operations. Voluminous documentation exceeding 10,000 pages. Case assigned to the Very High Costs Cases unit. Trial estimated to last up to 6 months. • Represented defendant charged with armed robbery of off-license using a gun.
