Area of practice: Crime

Specialist Criminal defence advocate practicing in all aspects of criminal work with particular experience of high value fraud and dishonesty cases, serious violence, sexual offences against adults and children and drugs trafficking.

Fraud

• Instructed in multi-handed international VAT fraud prosecuted by HM C&E concerning the tobacco industry with a value of up to £1,million. Listed for trial at Lewes Crown.

• Represented first defendant in multi-handed conspiracy to produce and supply satellite decoding machines valued in excess of £1million. Listed at Aylesbury Crown Court for 2 weeks.

• Instructed in 8 handed fraud case involving settling up bogus companies and claiming tax benefits. Listed at Snaresbrook Crown Court with a time estimate of 2 weeks.

• Acted for defendant charged with theft and deception of charitable funds in excess of £100,000 through false accounting.

• Represented client charged with credit fraud heard at Northampton Crown Court. Case attracted media and press interest locally.

Serious Violence

• Led by Stephen Linehan QC in murder trial for the defence at Birmingham Crown court.

• All other serious violence including section 18 wounding, armed robbery and other firearms offences.

Drugs

• Substantial experience in drugs trafficking, class A supply and in confiscation proceedings under the drug trafficking Act.

Other cases

• Represented defendant charged with extensive child abuse on young daughter over a period of 7 years. Listed at Northampton Crown Court.

• Appeared before the Court of Appeal on a number of occasions.
