EMPLOYMENT:
Our philosophy is simple: we are here to help

Our Team of specialist employment practitioners provides advocacy, consultancy services and advice in all areas of employment law, including:

• wrongful and unfair dismissal
• sexual discrimination
• racial discrimination
• disability discrimination
• employee benefits
• redundancy
• stress claims
• bullying
• transfer of undertakings
• restrictive covenants
• contracts of employment
• whistle blowing
• UK and European legislation.

We have wide experience working on behalf of employers and employees. Much of our work is focused upon resolution of disputes through negotiation and mediation. Increasingly members are involved in projects on behalf of employers, working closely with HR Managers and recruitment specialists to review existing employment contracts, benefit packages and long term HR strategies. Members of the Team regularly appear before Employment Tribunals and County Courts throughout London, the South East and the Midlands and before the Employment Appeal Tribunal and High Court. When necessary we can provide teams of counsel to work on a case drawing together a range of specialist expertise in support our professional and lay clients. We work closely with our instructing solicitors and work hard to maintain relationships with our professional clients based upon trust, respect and teamwork.

The Employment Team regularly provides CPD accredited seminars and lectures to solicitors and other professional clients, both at their offices and externally. Recent seminars include talks on workplace stress, human rights in employment, sex, race and disability discrimination and restrictive covenants.

Contact our Senior Clerk, Russell Burton, or Civil Clerk, Scott Savage, to book Counsel and for any advice as to the most suitably experienced barrister for a particular set of instructions. Our philosophy is simple: we are here to help.

Clarendon Chambers is committed to providing our instructing solicitors and lay clients with a highly dependable service, including skilled and robust advocacy and proficient clerking. In support of our commitment to our clients, Chambers continues to develop our quality standards and holds the Legal Services Commission’s Quality Mark for the Bar, an essential long-term accreditation for any Chambers undertaking publicly funded work. In addition, we hold the Investor in People standard.
